This blog was sparked by a recent post from my friend Ryan Holloway, founder of Holloway Benefit Concepts. He got me thinking: healing doesn’t just come from treating a condition—it also comes from what we eat.

Whether you’re dealing with soreness, recovering from injury, or just trying to stay ahead of the curve, what you put on your plate can help move things in the right direction.

What We Eat Can Support How We Heal

Certain foods contain nutrients that play a key role in tissue repair, inflammation management, and immune health. That’s not internet folklore—it’s supported by plenty of studies and clinical research.

For example:

  • Leafy greens (think kale, spinach, Swiss chard) are rich in vitamin C and plant compounds that support healing.

  • Salmon and other fatty fish bring omega-3s to the table, which are known to help reduce chronic inflammation.

  • Berries are loaded with antioxidants and help your body produce collagen, a key protein for repairing tissue.

  • Nuts and seeds offer vitamin E, zinc, and healthy fats—all important in the recovery process.

  • Turmeric, used for centuries in traditional medicine, contains curcumin, which is being studied for its anti-inflammatory potential.

  • Bone broth provides collagen and amino acids that support joints and soft tissue.

You don’t need a perfect diet. Just adding a few of these foods into your weekly routine can give your body a little more to work with.
